qualified students with advanced and little-known myofascial
techniques which can be easily incorporated into existing
personal styles. Drawing on a wide range of disciplines, the
focus is on unusual, interesting, and fresh approaches that
will both expand technique repertoire and inspire creativity
and innovation. Potential topics
include: Specific techniques for common
structural and functional complaints; Relieving pain, restoring
lost function, and getting lasting results; Utilizing both
active and passive movement to enhance
effectiveness; Precision in working with specific
tissue types and body layers; Tracking subtle
psycho-physiological and nervous system responses; and
Ways to work sensitively, safely, and comfortably at very deep
levels.
In addition to in-person demonstrations and individualized hands-on supervision, our instructors use state-of-the-art instructional materials, including Primal Pictures' 3D Interactive Anatomy software. Class size and student/teacher ratio are kept small for maximum personal attention. Participants also receive a detailed course manual/note organizer with photos of techniques covered. Videos of instructor demonstrations are also available for post-workshop practice and review.
Instructor: Ellyn Lindquist brings over
15 years of experience in bodywork and Rolfing® to her
classroom and creates a fun and creative environment. She
graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Psychology
and then went on to attend East West College of the Healing
Arts in Portland, OR and the Rolf Institute for Structural
Integration in Boulder, CO.
Ellyn has taught anatomy, kinesiology and pathology at East
West College, assisted at the Rolf Institute and for continuing
education classes and is now teaching myofascial work and
pathology at Sage School of Massage. She also has had teaching
experience in rock climbing and mountaineering classes.
Ellyn owns Central Oregon Rolfing® & Therapeutic
Bodyworks in Bend and has a full practice in structural work
and Rolfing. She is active in triathlon, skiing and Pilates.
She has a sound background in rock climbing, yoga, dance and
playing music and was a choreographer for musicals in her
hometown of Appleton, WI.
Her realistic approach to teaching helps students to understand
what they will experience in their practice. She uses humor and
philosophy to integrate scientific knowledge into practical
application. Ellyn’s philosophy of being a therapist and
teacher is “I simply want to help educate people to
better understand their bodies and minds and the correlation
between the two”.

for lateral knee pain for graduate thesis in association with

holds a master’s degree in exercise physiology, has been
